The Altus School in San Diego Is Testing Humanoid Robotics in Search of the Future of Education
A San Diego charter school spent roughly $500,000 on two ChatGPT-enabled humanoid robots, built by Engineered Arts, in an open-ended pilot to test whether a physical AI system can support teaching and student engagement. The pilot is still rough around the edges and raises a bigger question around the role of AI and humanoid robots in classrooms.

Waymo Calls Police on Underage Teens; Still Need Humans
When two 15-year-olds began drinking and firing gel-pellet guns inside a driverless Waymo in San Mateo, a human monitor watching the vehicle's cameras alerted police, kept feeding the car's location, stalled the teens with a fake mechanical-trouble message, and remotely disabled the car. At least for now, "driverless" still depends on people supervising exceptions and stepping in when the technology hits something it wasn't designed to handle.
